Alternative Fuels
Alternative fuels include biodiesel, hydrogen, mixture of methane, compressed natural gas (CNG), propane, and hydrogen and natural gas (hythane). Although alternative fuels are cleaner than gasoline and diesel, they are still in need of pollution control, emitting carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons, and particulate matter. When these vehicles are used in enclosed areas, they must contain a catalytic converter in order to maintain certain regulatory compliance and protect employee health.
