For these vehicles, the “three-way” catalyst which is capable of destroying 97% of hydrocarbons, 96% of carbon monoxide and 90% of nitrogen oxides (NOx) produced by car engines is now being used. For diesel engines, and lean burn engines burning alternative fuels, a "NOx Trap," or the EmeraChem EMx technology is used to reduce NOx, CO, HC, and PM emissions with a single catalyst system. EmeraChem also offers Diesel Oxidation Catalysts (DOC), under the brand name DOx for the reduction of CO, HC, and PM from both mobile and stationary engines.
